Established in 1927 Fiveacres country club was the first naturist club in Great Britain.

Its origins go back even further, in 1924 a group of nudists, or gymnosophists as they were called in those days, gathered together at a site near Wickford in Essex, which belonged to one of their members.

They called the site ‘The Camp’ and grew their modest membership from 8 to 25 people, meeting every weekend.
Because people then, had a very different view of nudism, the members all went under assumed names to protect their identities.
They eventually had to give up their piece of land, but thankfully managed to aquire the land at Bricket Wood where the club is now.
Over the years, the club grounds have changed hands several times over.
Today, the club is run and managed by Pat Badham, and you can read her interview on Nudist UK.com here

She is assisted by a few volunteers who take care of the day to day maintenance such as cleaning the pool, cutting the grass and hedges and creating flower displays, and also keep the clubhouse in its gleaming condition.

The clubhouse at Fiveacres country club is probably one of the best naturist clubhouses around.
With its fully stocked licensed bar, some great food from its kitchen, and social events throughout the year, there is literally something for everyone.
Fancy a sauna – or a game of pool? It’s all here, in addition to complete shower and changing facilities.
The sun terrace at Fiveaces naturist club is amazing.
You can arrive at the club thinking that the watery spring sunshine will have no effect on your skin only to find that when sunbathing on this magic terrace, your body seems to fry!

No need to go abroad!
Seriously, you can genuinely relax and get that important all-over tan whilst sipping a cold drink and being served with great food and friendly chat by Pat and her team.
My partner and I have been talking about going to a naturalist camp or club for ages
Having read about your club we are interested but wondered if our ages would go against us as she is 71 and I am 65. We were hoping to meet people of the same ages and mind set
