How to Become a Naturist…
You’re sitting there looking out of the window and imagining that you are enjoying naked freedom somewhere sunny, with a cool inviting pool and fellow nudists sprawled on sun-beds, soaking up the golden rays.
Or maybe on a nudist beach, strolling into the sea, feeling the water envelope your body, stretching out your naked limbs and appreciating the closeness between you and nature.
There is no feeling like it, it’s almost as if your soul and the earth are merging as one, giving a sense of euphoric inner peace and contentment.
Sounds a bit far-fetched? Sounds like poetic nonsense?
Well maybe, but many naturists will fully understand the sentiment of the message that I am trying to get across.
You can sit there and carry on staring out of the window wishing for something else to come along that will enrich your life, but if you have a burning curiosity to discover what it’s like to be a naturist then what’s stopping you?
I’ll tell you what will stop you; excuses…
‘Who’s going to want to see my ugly body?’
‘I haven’t got time for anything like that’ (favourite excuse for everyone)
‘Someone I know might see me’
‘I’ve got scars – stretch marks – missing limbs – I’m too fat –too thin – too bald –ginger – black – grey – too tall – too short……’
Even super models are sometimes unhappy with aspects of their bodies.
The amazing thing about naturism is that nobody cares what you look like. If you go to a naturist club for example you have a simple choice; to integrate or not. Either way, your fellow naturists will not judge you.
You can relax on your own all day, reading, swimming or just day-dreaming, or you can choose to socialise with your fellow naturists. They will look at you as a person, and listen to what you have to say. No naturist is bothered or interested in what scars or other disfigurements you might have, and the same goes if you are concerned about the size and shape of any aspect of your body. Genuinely, naturists don’t care how big you bottom, boobs or willy is.
I have been on many nudist beaches and seen women who have had a mastectomy or other operation. I have seen men with one leg, people on crutches, heavily pregnant women, people who have just had a heart operation and even a guy who was freshly circumcised. All naked, all happy and no issues.
So, how do I become a naturist?
The simple and glib answer would be to say “Just do it” however, as true as that advice may be, it’s not going to help anyone.
As has been documented in a newly released book; ‘How to become a Naturist’ by Kelly Dixon, there is a crossover between being a ‘Textile’, ie someone who is not a naturist, and of course people who are naturists. But that crossover can be achieved in 5 seconds flat, just by flicking a mental switch, taking a deep breath and removing all of the garments from your body.
There is a true-life nudist story experience told on this Nudist UK site where this guy, who is not yet a naturist, is one of hundreds of people walking along the beach at Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, looking at the naturists sunning themselves, thinking that this is very much a ‘them and us’ situation, with the naked people perhaps being a bit ‘weird.’
However, once the guy has plucked up the courage and stripped naked, he realises that of course the ‘them and us’ situation is reversed and it is the clothed people who are weird. (Read that story here)
Ring up your nearest naturist club and make an appointment to visit the club. Be honest and tell the person on the end of the phone that you are a nervous newby and would appreciate any advice that may benefit you.
When you arrive at the club be prepared with any questions. Do not stare at the naked club members. When you are speaking to anyone keep your eyes on their face. It’s quite important to give a good impression on this first visit because membership is not freely given to just anyone. They have to like you in the same way that you would want to like them.
I know a lot of this is common sense, but you would be surprised…
If you are granted membership, remember that there are three golden naturist club rules:-
Other great ways to become a naturist are to join a local naturist swimming club, you can get details with a simple internet search, or to visit a remote beach whilst on holiday. More about these alternatives in a future blog.
